Route 70 Cheshire Cycleway 2005

Time is ticking, we've only days to go!

17th May 2005

My trust steed has been in for a few repairs & a service.

  • New Chain
  • New Brake Blocks
  • New Cassette
  • New middle ring (Chainset)
  • New Bottom Bracket
  • New Brake Cable

I've had a little test this morning with Dom and it seems to be just like a new bike.   Big Grin

Beer

Damo's bought a new bike. Quoting from his email .."it's the dogs dongles"!

I'm not quite sure where the pedals go, but he says, "You'll be spitting out of my slipstream on Saturday".

Damo's Bike Seriously, it does look nice. It's a "Trek OX1". It's a road bike, so we'll have to find loads of bumpy, rocky paths (like the "Wirral Way" but loads worse!!!).Big Grin

18th April 2005

Dom's finally got his bike, a "Specialized Crossroads". Three cheers and all that !!!!   Envy

Dom's Bike

He's promised to be quite diligent in his preparation now. With so little time left to prepare, Dom'll need all the encouragement we can muster. He was out last Saturday & Sunday for "bottie" training, which by all acounts (groans and screams of pain) were a great success.   Big Grin

12th April 2005

Just over a month to go. The better weather should be upon us, but not by judging this morning.   Groan

We should all be well into our preparation and should be increasing our effort (if possible).
Remember, it takes about 10 days for any training to take effect.

That means we've really only 35 days to go !!!!

Scarey, yeh ?

11th March 2005

Bloody windy today!!!! I'm not looking forward to my return home.   Groan

We've 77 days to go and I'm sure we'll all be putting in the effort to prepare. If there any lazy bods out there hoping to wing it, I shall be peddaling pain-killers at £10 a pop.

Aspirin

10th March 2005

I've confirmed our booking at the "Red Lion", Malpas and Ian (the publican) has confirmed that there's a shed to store our bicycles. Big Eyes

03rd February 2005

Here's our proposed route. It is open for debate, and we can rearrange our over-night stops. Note that the maps are from "MapBlast" and may not exactly match the route. They're good enough for now.
